How is a Breema Massage Different From Other Types of Massage?
Traditional massage generally begins with the assumption that there is something wrong with your body and that it is the practitioner’s job to fix it. The practitioner then uses their anatomical knowledge and physical dexterity to address the problem, often applying muscular force in measured and skillful ways.
Breema massage, by contrast, begins with the assumption that your body is just as it is meant to be; there is no problem and therefore, nothing to be fixed. Rather, your body has the capacity to find its own balance and heal itself, and the Breema practitioner’s role is simply to offer support for your own healing energy. For this reason, the Breema practitioner uses no muscular force. They never press or pull, but instead use their own weight to interact with your body, which is called mutual support. When your body recognizes this partnership, it can give you a totally new experience of yourself; profoundly relaxed, energized, balanced and in harmony with life.
